IN PHOTOS: Our final day in Athens for INSP 2016

The final day of the 2016 Global Street Paper Summit began with an inspirational keynote about the power of solidarity in independent media. We ended on a high with our delegates celebrating with a beachside dinner – and a few emotional goodbyes!

Here’s how the day went in pictures.

INSP delegates give their feedback from the summit, and discuss how to put their ideas into action back home.

Delegates had the chance to reflect on what they had learned during the summit, and how to put those ideas into action back home. 100% of our 120 delegates told us they had a positive experience in Athens, and were leaving inspired!

This was followed by 0ur closing keynote – a truly inspiring address by Nicholas Voulelis, director of Greece’s top independent newspaper Efimerida ton Syntakton [The Journalists’ Paper]. You can watch his full talk here.

Delegates made sure they picked up copies of their fellow international street papers.

Our morning sessions covered how to meet the additional needs of our vendors, and a discussion on how street papers can engage with and build their readerships.

Speakers from Hus Forbi, The Big Issue UK and Shedia speak during a session on what readers want.

Delegates said goodbye to our incredible co-hosts Shedia, and celebrated new friendships forged.

After a whirlwind three days, delegates then had the chance to relax and unwind at the beach. Many took stock of all they had learned in Athens before a dinner by the sea, and had some emotional goodbyes.

Thank you to everyone who made our 2016 Global Street Paper Summit a success.
